2007 Cross Country: Helped lead the Islanders to their first Southland Conference Championship (10/27) by placing fourth at the championship meet...clocked 21:36 to earn All-Southland Conference honors for the second straight season...also was the top Islander finisher at the NCAA South Central Region meet (11/10) and the Chile Pepper Festival (10/13)...placed 33rd at the regional meet in 22:11, while placing 55th at the Chile Pepper Festival in 22:24...was tenth overall at both the Rice Invitational (9/15) and the Islander Splash (9/28) in 13:42 and 17:59, respectively...

2007 Indoor Track: Had the best time of the season in the mile run by an Islander when she ran 5:08.42 to place fifth at the Southland Conference meet (2/17)...2007 Outdoor Track: Had the best times of year for TAMUCC in the 1,500 and 3,000, while posting the third best in the 800...Set a school record in the 1,500 at the Rice Twilight (4/26) with a time of 4:34.34 to place third...won the 1,500 at the Texas State Open (3/9) and was fourth at the SLC Championships (5/5)...won the 3,000 at the Texas State Open in 10:16.24...had a personal-best time of 2:19.01 at the Rice Bayou Classic (3/31)...2006 Cross Country: Competed in all five meets except the season-ending region meet...top Islander performer in the final three meets she ran...placed eighth twice...was eighth in the Southland Conference Championship (10/27) in 23:07 to earn Newcomer-of-the-Year honors...also eighth at the Islander Splash (9/29) in 18:33.

At South Plains: Ran cross country and track for two seasons at South Plains Junior College for Chris Beene...earned NJCAA All-America honors in track and cross country in 2004-05...won region title in cross country that season...Academic All-American in 2005.

In High School: Competed at Solian Girls High School in Koibatek, Kenya...named the team’s best runner as a sophomore and top academic athlete as a senior.

Personal: Born Lydia Kimeli on June 25, 1983 in Eldoret, Kenya...daughter of Joseph and Eliseba Kimeli...has eight siblings...nursing major.
