In High School: Competed in middle distance at San Diego High School in San Diego, Texas for Carlos Trevino...had a time of 2:33 in the 800m her senior year, 1:04.7 seconds in the 400m dash...district champion in the 800m run, 400m dash and mile relay...lettered four years in track, cross country and one letter in powerlifting...member of the National Honor Society and in top quarter of her graduating class.

Personal: Born Kathy Perez on May 14, 1992 in Corpus Christi...daughter of Joey Perez and Priscilla Alaniz....has two older siblings Julie and Anthony Alaniz.
