Biography

2006 Cross Country: Competed in each of the first four races scoring for the Islanders each time out...was the second Islander to finish in at the Southland Conference Championship (10/27) with her best finish of the season when she was 16th in 23:38...crossed the line 19th at the Islander Splash (9/29) with a time of 19:23.

In High School: Ran track and cross country for the Cypress Falls Golden Eagles...broke the one-minute barrier in the 400-meter run and had a 57 second split time in the 4x400-meter relay...clocked 2:30 in the 800 meters...team’s Most Valuable Runner in 2005 after winning 400 title in district...part of 4x400 relay that won three straight district titles...second in the district in the 200-meter run as a senior...competed in the Junior Olympics in 2005 and 2006.

Personal: Born Cynthia Daliza Santaella on Dec. 12, 1988 in Puerto Rico...daughter of Luis Santaella and Fior de los Santos...has two younger siblings...major is undecided.
