Kevin Robinson became the assistant track & field coach at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi prior to the start of the 2017-18 academic year. He serves as the coach for the multi events, jumps, hurdles and is the program's recruiting coordinator. In 2018-19, he also served as the team's throws coach.
In 2018-19, Sashane Hanson was an NCAA Second Team All-America performer in the high jump, won Southland titles in the Pentathlon, indoor high jump and outdoor high jump, and placed second in the Heptathlon. She was named the Southland Track & Field Student-Athlete of the Year and became a four-time conference outdoor high jump champion. Logan Robinson earned All-Southland honors and qualified for the NCAA Preliminaries with a school record in the javelin. Daniel Armstrong set the 110m hurdle school record and advanced to teh NCAA Preliminary second round. Kendall Rodriguez was an all-conference 400m hurdle performer who qualified to the NCAA Preliminaries.
In his first season, the Islanders landed the largest recruiting class in program history, had four all-conference performers, broke three school records, had 19 new top-10 marks, sent the most student-athletes ever to an NCAA West Preliminary and tied for the top women's finish in program history.
Prior to arriving on the Island, Robinson was the volunteer assistant coach for multi's, jumps and hurdles at his alma mater, Portland State University. In 2016-17, PSU had the largest recruiting class in program history, broke four school records, set one Big Sky Conference Record, had nine all-conference performers, four conference champions and the men's team tied for the top finish in program history.
Robinson is married to Maile Robinson (Chong) and resides in Flour Bluff.
