In High School: Competed in cross country coach Damaris King and for Vince Stark in track at Gregory-Portland High School...team finished in the top three in district in each of his four seasons...posted a personal-best time of 16:25 over 5K as a junior with a best of 16:31 as a senior...four-time all-district selection for the Wildcats.

Personal: Born Robert Torres on Aug. 23, 1991 in Corpus Christi...son of Robert and Cynthia Torres...has two younger siblings...plans to major in nursing.
