Marissa Cisneros was born and raised in Corpus Christi Texas where she started dancing at a early age of 4 years old. In high school, she was part of the award-winning Mary Carroll High school Tigerette Drill Team. Along with being a member for all four years, Marissa served as the JV Tigerettes Lieutenant in ’06-’07 and Captain ‘07-09 for the Tigerette Officer Line(s).

Marissa graduated from Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi with her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Physical Education; her minor is in Liberal Arts with a certificate in dance education. While at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, she was a member of the Islanders Dance Team where she was named “Rookie of the Year” for the 2009-2010 season. She was also a part of the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Dance program. 

Later, she graduated from Concordia University Austin, Texas in 2017 with a Masters Degree in Education with a Specialization in Sports Administration. 

Marissa specializes in all styles of dance including kick, jazz, pom, lyrical, hip-hop and military. She has helped coach and assist many dance teams through out the years and has over 20 years of dance experience. She is a certified dance adjudicator in which now she judges dance try outs for some of the local high schools around the surrounding areas. She is part of the Showtime International Dance Company Competition Staff where she has judged Regional and National Dance competitions for the Central and South Texas areas.  

In the fall of 2018 Marissa was named the Spirit Coordinator and Head Dance, Cheer, and Mascot Coach for Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. She is also the Director for the Just For Kix Dance studio for the Coastal bend and South Texas Area. 

Last season, Marissa had the opportunity to lead the spirit team in their first ever appearance at the NCAA March Madness Tournament for Islanders Men’s Basketball Team.

In her off time, Marissa enjoys spending time with her husband and their three dogs. The Cisneros family will be expecting  their first baby come April 2023.
