2015 UIL Region IV Cross Country Championship Meet Information:
Attention: In the event of inclement weather (lightning), races will be postponed. Races will continue through rain, as long as no lightning occurs. In the event of heavy rain, spectator parking will be moved to the campus of Texas A&M-Corpus Hammerhead Parking Lot, where shuttle transportation will take you back to Momentum Campus.
Special Note: Team who arrives in buses will drop teams off at track stadium and then they must go park away from the meet course and the driver will be shuttled back to the course. See directions to the course instructions.

The course is run on the Momentum Campus of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi around the Dugan Track/Soccer Stadium (see maps at bottom of page).

Exit to Highway 358 SPID (South Padre Island Drive) south
Team Vehicles:
From Highway 358(SPID) exit Ennis Joslin and go left. Then go left on Islander Way. Islander Way will be a one-way street on race day. Cross Nile to the Dugan track/soccer stadium parking lot:
- Buses: Will drop teams off at drop off site at the Dugan track/soccer stadium parking lot. It is important that you do this rapidly to avoid traffic tie ups. Bus drivers will then exit the Dugan track stadium parking lot and turn left on Nile. Go to Ennis Joslin and turn left. Then right onto Ocean Drive. Take 2nd right turn onto the main campus (Sanddollar Drive). Turn left into Hammerhead Parking Lot. Shuttle buses will take driver back to Dugan track stadium parking lot. The shuttle will also take you from the Dugan track stadium parking lot back to the Hammerhead lot to collect your bus when your races are over. Please follow the route down Ennis Joslin to a right hand turn onto Islander Way to the Dugan Stadium parking lot, the route you took initially. This will minimize crowding on Nile.
- Booster Club vehicles: containing team materials such as tents, chairs, coolers, etc. may also drop at the team parking area. They much then park in spectator parking after dropping off materials.
- Team vans or cars with uniformed runners: Will continue down Islander Way, cross Nile and go directly into the parking lot of the Dugan Track/Soccer stadium and park. If that lot is full, you then be directed to park at the intramural lot on Islander Way or at the Tennis Center lot.
Spectators:
- From Highway 358 (SPID) exit Nile and turn left. Continue through two stop signs. Spectator parking will be on the right. This route will likely back up. It is recommended you follow route #2 and #2 to avoid congestion.
- From Highway 358(SPID) exit Airline and turn left. Right on Alameda. Right on Ennis Joslin. Then right on Nile. Spectator parking will be on your left.
- From Highway 358 (SPID) exit Airline and turn left. Pass Alameda and continue to Ocean Drive. Turn right on Ocean Drive. Turn right on Ennis Joslin and then right on Nile. Spectator parking will be on your left.
In the event of inclement weather:
Team parking continues as above.
Spectators will park on the main campus of TAMUCC and take shuttle buses to the course.
- From Highway 358 (SPID) exit Nile to Ennis Joslin and turn left. Turn right on Ocean Drive. When you get to the TAMUCC campus, take the second turn off Ocean Dr. (Sanddollar Drive) onto the main TAMUCC campus. Park in the Sanddollar Parking Lot to the right. Take the special cross country shuttle from the bus stop located on Ocean Drive between the two campus entrances (map below). It will run back and forth every 10 minutes from campus to the cross country course on the Momentum campus.
- From Highway 358 (SPID) exit Airline go left and continue to Ocean Drive and turn right continue to Ocean Drive. When you get to the TAMUCC campus take the second turn off Ocean Dr. (Sanddollar Dr.) onto the main TAMUCC campus. Park in the Sanddollar Parking Lot to the right. Take the special cross country shuttle from the bus stop located on Ocean Drive between the two campus entrances (map below). It will run back and forth every 10 minutes from campus to the cross country course on the Momentum campus.
*There is no parking fee.
Maps:
Admissions: There will be no admission charged for entrance into spectator areas.
Packet Pickup/Course Inspections:
Coaches can pick up their packets from 4-7pm early on Sunday, October 25 at the ticket window of theDugan Track/Soccer Stadium. The course will be open for inspection from 4-7pm. Packet pick up times on race day are indicated on the meet schedule.
Note: We have been informed by the UIL that UIL Sunday practice rules allow teams to inspect the course on Sunday and coaches to pick up packets. However, coaches are not to run the course with their teams or engage in other coaching instruction on Sunday.
NOTE: There is a home soccer game scheduled to finish at 3pm. The course will open at 4pm.
Entry to Meet:
- All schools are responsible for entering their qualified athletes into the Regional meet. Entry is done through www.athletic.net The code for the Region IV meet on Athletic.net is: 106083. If you have qualified a team you may enter up to 10 athletes. At packet pick up you must declare which 7 are running and turn in any non- competing athlete’s chips and bib numbers. NOTE: You will be charged for all athletes you enter regardless if they run or not.
- District Chairmen: You are required to submit by email or fax to Regional meet director; Shawn Flanagan, shawn.flanagan@tamucc.edu Fax: 361-825-3218; your UIL District Results form prior to the entry deadline. NOTE: This form does not enter any athletes into the meet. It verifies who is qualified to participate. Each school must enter their qualified athletes.
Entry Deadline: All entries must be received by 5:00pm on Tuesday October 20th 2015.
Entry Fees: Entry fees are assessed for each athlete entered. A school with a qualified team may enter up to 10 athletes to include alternates but may only compete a maximum of 7. Note: If more than 7 are entered entry fees will be charged for all entered regardless if they run or not. At packet pick up turn in bibs and chips of non-competing athletes.
Entry is $20/athlete entered.
PAYMENT:
Payment: Cash, checks or Credit Card may be used. Payments must be made when race packets are picked up. It is highly recommended that you do not mail payment but arrange to bring the entry fee to the meet. Make checks payable to: TAMU-CC Athletics

District Results:
The district chairperson is responsible for faxing the UIL District results form. If your team or individuals have qualified for the Regional meet we strongly suggest that you make sure this form was filed. District Results should also be emailed to Meet Director Shawn Flanagan at: shawn.flanagan@tamucc.edu
Entry Information:
The deadline to submit entries is Tuesday, October 20, 2015 by 5 p.m. Entries must be certified at the district level and each school must send their entries to athletic.net. The meet code for the Regional meet on Athletic.net is: 106083 PLEASE DO NOT RELY ON THE DISTRICT CHAIRPERSON TO DO THIS! The reason this is important is that the District Chairperson does not have a list of your alternates on the results sheets. You may enter up to 10 athletes for a team but you can run only seven. All entries must be certified and eligible by UIL rules. You must declare your seven runners at packet pickup. The bib numbers and chips for any non-competing athletes must be turned in at packet pickup.
Distances Run:
All boy’s races are 5km, 6A and 5A girls are also 5km. All other girl’s races are 2 miles.
Chip Timing:
Chips for each runner will be in your packet. Each packet will be filled according to number of entries. Make sure the number on the bib matches the number on the chips for each athlete. There is a $5 fee for each chip not accounted for. Turn in chips ONLY to packet check in table.
Starting Boxes: Boxes will be posted at the ticket office window at Dugan track stadium.
Restrooms: There are portable restrooms available. No showers are available.
Awards: Trophy for the first place team in each high school varsity race. Medals will be awarded to top three teams and top 10 individuals in each race.
Awards Ceremonies: Will take place in the area in front of and east of the track stadium stands. See the meet schedule for times for each race. See meet schedule for award ceremony times.
Note: 4th place teams do not receive an award but will be recognized as State Qualifiers at the Awards Ceremony.
Results: Will be posted on the building behind the track stadium. They will also be available after 5pm on race day at www.goislanders.com and www.chuckscore.com
Protests: Protests must be in writing and delivered to the meet referee at the finish line within 20 minutes of posting of results.
UIL Uniform rule will be strictly enforced.
State Qualifiers:
- Top 4 teams in each race.
- Top 10 individuals not on a qualifying team in each race.
*Meet Director will submit state qualifiers to the UIL.
T-shirts: Sales of t-shirts and other meet apparel will be by Fine Design. They offer much greater services than previously provided. Attached are the basic design of the UIL Region IV logo and a short explanation of the services Fine Design offer. They make the shirts at the meet site.
Concessions: Are available in the meet area behind the stands.
