Fifth Annual Alumni Match Presented by the Reese Buchanan Law Firm This Saturday 

Come see the intense competition between the Islanders alumni vs. the current Islanders at 10 a.m. at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center 

We are extremely grateful to Reese Buchanan for all he does for Islanders Tennis and his generosity in making the Islanders alumni match a top-notch event this year.

This match is a dual match format between the current Islanders players and the alumni that built this program from the ground up. The alumni have won two of the five meetings. Last season, the men’s alumni edged out last season’s Islanders team, 4-3, and last season’s Islanders women’s team topped the women’s alumni, 5-2.   

One of the real blessings for Islanders tennis is the incredibly close-knit family of Islanders alumni. They are just as close as a team as when they played and are always mentoring and supporting the team and coaches. These alumni built the foundation of Islanders tennis. The family atmosphere and extreme work ethic, the commitment to show up and play hard every match with no excuses, those standards were passed on to this current group from people like Jason Holland, Alex Johansson, Nathan Robinson, Andrew Maingot, Carlota Santos, Alexandra Williams, Megan Harless and Doris Kuselj, and many other Islanders that compete every year in this alumni match. The other special thing about the Islanders alumni is how many of them stay in top-notch shape and still play at a very high level. It is a special feeling to see this group return to compete.
