During her freshman season with the Lobos, Ruel appeared in 19 games with 13 starts ... logged 62 total innings on the year, picking up a pair of wins ... in her collegiate debut against St. Mary's, Ruel went the complete seven innings, allowing one unearned run on six hits, striking out two and allowed just one extra base hit in a 4-1 victory.

A former standout at Villa Park HS in Orange, Calif., Ruel was named North Hills Conference MVP as a junior, leading her team to back-to-back league titles during her junior and senior seasons ... earned all-league honors three times and was the conference's rookie of the year in 2014 ... was a three-time scholar athlete selection and played club softball for the Explosion.
