CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Islanders Athletics continued its tradition of academic success during the Spring 2026 semester, posting an impressive 3.41 departmental GPA while extending its streak to 24 consecutive semesters with a cumulative departmental GPA above 3.0.
The department also finished the academic year with a 3.46 cumulative GPA, further highlighting the sustained academic achievement across all programs.
Every Islanders program earned a team GPA above 3.0 during the spring semester, led by women's golf with a department-best 3.80 GPA and a 3.82 cumulative GPA. Volleyball followed closely with a 3.69 spring GPA and 3.73 cumulative GPA, while women's tennis recorded a 3.68 spring GPA alongside a 3.70 cumulative mark.
Soccer continued its academic success with a 3.60 spring GPA and 3.71 cumulative GPA, while baseball and beach volleyball each posted matching 3.56 spring GPAs. Men's tennis also turned in a strong semester with a 3.55 GPA.
Additional programs earning a 3.0 GPA or higher during the Spring 2026 semester included women's cross country (3.42), women's basketball (3.38), women's track and field (3.36), softball (3.29), men's cross country (3.18), men's basketball (3.05) and men's track and field (3.07).
A total of 193 student-athletes recorded a 3.0 GPA or higher during the spring semester, while 52 earned perfect 4.0 GPAs.
