FRISCO, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi beach volleyball team secured its fourth SLC Pair of the Week honor this season with
Mia Stevens and
Saskia Hernandez bringing it home this time, announced by the league office Tuesday.
Stevens and Hernandez earn their first weekly honor as Islanders, but the program's fourth this season. They are the third pair to win it after
Madison Morrow/
Kristin Bobay won the opening award while
Millie Olsson/
Maria Duda Fernandes de Melo won it twice this year.
En route to winning the honor, Stevens and Hernandez secured a perfect weekend as the Islanders completed a 4-0 record in their home tournament, the 2026 Islanders Classic. They emerged victorious in their matches against Cal State Bakersfield, Tarleton State, Pepperdine, and ULM between Flights 4/5 to finish 4-0 on the weekend as a pair.
They are on a 12-dual winning streak as a duo, which matches the team's winning streak, not losing since back on March 13.
The Islanders are 17-8 this season with four remaining regular-season matches to be in reach of their fifth consecutive 20-win season. They will also be the No. 1 seed in the SLC Tournament, which they will host April 22-24, with a guaranteed two matches.
That final regular season tournament will be this week in Baton Rouge when they head to LSU's Battle on the Bayou Friday and Saturday.
