CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi beach volleyball team closed out a 4-0 weekend in their home tournament, posting a pair of sweeps over Tarleton State and Sam Houston Saturday in the Islander Classic.
The Islanders (16-9) didn't relent a point on the final day of their home weekend, sweeping the Texans and Bearkats cleanly 5-0. They added to a day of celebration with a special Senior Day presentation between matches, where they honored seniors

Kela Moreno.
"It was a great weekend at home for us, especially for our seniors who went undefeated. The whole team has had to fight a lot of adversity battling weather conditions this year, and this weekend wasn't any different. Overall, the tournament was a great success and it's always a fun event for the community with great turnout. It's also special that we have the amount of support we do from administration with our University President Dr. Kelly Miller and Athletic Director

Tess Spaansen finished a 4-0 weekend at flight one, topping both their opponents in straight sets today and never allowing more than 15 points against them. Kristan Bobay/Millie Olssen accomplished the same feat of a 2-0 day in straight sets, including keeping Sam Houston to under 10 points in each set.

Elizabeth Cortez started the day at court three with a 21-10, 21-11 victory before playing at court four against Sam Houston with a 21-12, 21-9 win.

Ruby Kayser competed at flight five the whole day completely dominated their second win 21-1, 21-8.

Ashlyn Rough took a 21-12, 21-9 win at court three in the second match of the day.
The Islanders have just two tournaments remaining on the regular season schedule, next heading to LSU's tournament next weekend.
