AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi beach volleyball team will conclude the 2025 regular season this Friday when they take on two nationally ranked programs in #6 Cal Poly and #17 North Florida in the University of Texas's Lone Star Invitational.
The Islanders (18-11) will take on Cal Poly at 10 a.m. before officially wrapping the regular season against North Florida at 2 p.m.
It will be the final tune up before the SLC Championships, which begin next Wednesday in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Islanders will be the No. 2 seed and get started against No. 7 McNeese Wednesday that morning.
They will also be going for the program's fourth consecutive 20+ win season with just two more needed on their season tally with at least four guaranteed matches remaining including the postseason.
One pair has already reached that 20-win mark, with
Madison Morrow/
Tess Spaansen holding down court one with a 20-8 duo record on the year. Two other pairs near that, with
Bryce Ranney/Jade Bennet right behind at 17 wins this year mainly at flight five.
Kristin Bobay/
Millie Olsson have notched 16 wins as a duo at court two this season as the third pair on the squad to record double figure wins. They are recently coming off a weekend that saw a three-set victory over #11 LSU's twos pair, their second ranked win this season after also getting a point from #10 Arizona State earlier.
The Islanders will be going for the first team ranked win of the season but third in program history. They are 2-0 against North Florida all-time but trail Cal Poly 0-4.
A&M-Corpus Christi has also continued to receive national recognition this year, having been receiving votes in the AVCA Poll every week this season.
