BEAUMONT, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi golf team posted their best round of the week Tuesday, shooting a 304 for the final 939 tournament total as they concluded Lamar's Cardinal Challenge at the Beaumont Country Club.
The Islanders improved by 20 strokes from their second round into the final 18-hole played, but there wasn't any movement on the leaderboard as every team finished the tournament how they were placed after round two.
Every Islander carded a score in the 70s today, with
Samantha Gibbs posting the team's lowest round of the tournament with a 74. She ends as team lead in a tie for eighth place individually, finishing the week with a 228 (+12).
Lucia Ramirez finished two strokes behind in 11
th place after shooting a 78 today for the 230-tournament score.
Elsa Tornvall and
Tristan Gabbard both turned in their best rounds of the tournament today at a 77 and 75, respectively.

The Islanders will next compete in their regular season finale, heading up to SMU's Veritex Bank Collegiate Tournament April 7-8. It will be their last tune-up before the SLC Championships set for April 14-16 in San Marcos.
