BOULDER CITY, Nev. – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi golf team finished out South Dakota State's Jackrabbit Invitational Tuesday after three rounds played at the Boulder Creek Golf Club, tying for 11
th place.
The Islanders posted a 923-tournament score, carding a 303, 306, and 314 through the three rounds. It tied them for 11
th out of 15
th teams after playing down a player through the week.
The Islanders were led by the consistent play of
Lucia Ramirez, who finished tied for 14
th after shooting 74-72-77 – 223 on the week, just +7.
Tristan Gabbard was one stroke behind her through three rounds, opening the tournament strong with a 69 (-3) round one score. She is the second Islander to submit a sub-70 round this spring.
Samantha Gibbs improved from her first round performance, shooting a 73 and 75 in rounds two and three to finish with the 228 tournament score. Ela Tornvall rounded out the lineup with a 248 54-hole total.
The Islanders will now take the next two weeks off and get back in action at Lamar's Cardinal Challenge March 31-April 1.
