Track & Field Announces 2026 Schedule

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Looking to carry forward the momentum from a successful last calendar year, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi track & field team announced its schedule for the 2026 season on Wednesday, as revealed by head coach Bryan Jackson.

"I am beyond excited about the upcoming track and field seasons," Jackson said. "The 2025 seasons were historic in many ways. I believe we are a strong program on both the men's and women's sides. The distance group had a tremendous fall and will carry that momentum into the 2026 track seasons, and I have been extremely impressed with our throws, springs and jumps groups and how they have prepared this fall. I can't wait to see how it all comes together."

The Islanders kick off the indoor portion of the season on January 10, traveling north to take part in the Leonard Hilton Memorial Invitational, hosted by the University of Houston. The team then returns for two more meets in Houston to wrap up the regular season, first at the Robert Platt Invitational on January 30-31 and then at the Howie Ryan Invitational on February 13. This then leads into the postseason, starting with the Southland Conference Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Alabama on February 26-27 and concluding at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Arkansas on March 13-14.

The season then moves into its outdoor portion right after, with the Islanders opening up that slate at the UTSA Invitational on March 20-21. This marks the first of four straight in-state meets, with the next three being the Texas Relays in Austin on April 1-4, the Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos on April 2-4 and the Cactus Cup in Kingsville on April 11. After this, A&M-Corpus Christi makes a trip west, heading to California for both the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa and the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut on April 16-18 before then wrapping up regular season back home in Dallas for the SMU Invitational on May 2.

The Southland Conference Outdoor Championships will take place on May 14-16 in Nacogdoches on the campus of Stephen F. Austin, and should anyone qualify, they would then compete at the NCAA West Region First Round back in Fayetteville on May 27-30. To cap things off, the NCAA Outdoor Championships will take place on June 10-13 on the campus of the University of Oregon in Eugene.

The Islanders will be looking to take another step forward after raising the bar in 2025, setting 20 new school records in total between indoor and outdoor seasons. At the two Southland Conference Championships, the team took home seven gold medals, seven silvers and nine bronzes in addition to four individual awards, with sophomore Elizabeth Khatevi earning Women's Outdoor Most Valuable Performer and Freshman of the Year, sophomore Phylis Kibet earning Women's Indoor Freshman of the Year, and junior Emmanuel Ekuma earning Men's Outdoor Co-Newcomer of the Year. In addition, the Islanders sent five athletes to the NCAA West Region First Round, with those including returning senior Cyan Green in the shot put and junior Breyunna Dowell in the hammer throw.
