Islanders Searching for First Road Win of Season at Texas Southern

HOUSTON, Texas – Nearing the end of nonconference play, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi soccer team will play one last road game before the beginning of the SLC slate Thursday night at Texas Southern at 7 p.m.

The Islanders (2-2-2) will be going for their first road win of the season, and under the direction of first-year head coach Daniel Clitnovici. They are coming off a massive 5-1 victory at home over Prairie View A&M and will be looking to take that momentum on the road to face Texas Southern (1-5) in the first of two meetings.

The two teams will meet once more back in Corpus Christi on Sept. 18 to round out nonconference play for the Islanders. It is the first time that the teams will have played each other twice in a season.

"The team has trained really well the last few days, they seem focused and ready for the challenge at Texas Southern," said head coach Daniel Clitnovici. "We face an opponent that has played all their games on the road this season, so I'm sure they will be excited to finally play a home game and they will be tough to break down. We will need to stay on task and stick to what we know can help us perform."
