FRISCO, Texas - Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Athletes excelled in the classroom this school year to the tune of 134 athletes earning a spot on the 2024 Spring SLC Commissioner's Honor Roll. There were 32 who had a 4.0 for the spring semester. This award is on top of the plethora of accolades Islanders Athletics has received this spring for excellence in academics. Others included 12 Teams with perfect 1,000 APR's, a department 996 APR as a whole, and now being three times in a row winners of the Southland Conference Academic Performance Award and the Women's All Sports Award. To top all of this, A&M-Corpus Christi is now at 20 straight semesters with a department cumulative GPA 3.0+.
To earn a spot on the Southland Commissioner's List, a student-athlete must have earned at least a 3.0 GPA and have been eligible to compete in their sport.
Every spring sport at A&M-Corpus Christi was represented with the breakdown being 34 baseball, 14 men's basketball, 13 women's basketball, 15 beach volleyball, six women's golf, 19 softball, eight men's tennis, seven women's tennis, nine men's track & field, and nine women's track & field. The 134 student-athletes tops last spring's total of 130 showing the continued excellence in academics for Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
