FRISCO, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Men's and Women's Track & Field Teams earned a combined six honors for the Southland All-Conference this spring.
Leading the way for the Islanders was junior Kelvin Kimaiyo on the men's side who dominated in long-distance against the Southland, earning second team honors in the 5,000- and 10,000-meter races.
On the women's side, senior Capri Wilson used her speed to grab two honors as she finished third team in the 100-meter dash and second team as a part of the 4x100 relay team consisting of herself, sophomore Khiah Lara-Turner, sophomore Erial Fontenot, and freshman Nia Hampton.
Other individual winners for the Islanders were in the triple jump with Sophomore Myla Tate finishing third team and graduate student Dennis Kipngeno who received a third team honor in the 5,000-meter race.
