BEAUMONT, Texas – Senior
Lucie Charbonnier came away with her second individual title of the season as she helped the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi golf team to a runner-up finish at Lamar's Cardinal Challenge Tuesday.
Charbonnier opened and closed the regular season with a win, taking the individual title at the Islanders Classic as the season opener. This is her first season to win twice and the first Islander to do so since 2003-04 when Ashlie Simmons won four.
She carded a 72-74-77 – 223 to finish just seven over. She was two strokes ahead of second place.
Additionally, the Islanders finished second overall to conclude the regular season in the top-three in four of the five tournaments. They battled weather on this final day, but still carded a 307-309-316 – 935 (+71) to secure that runner-up finish. They were just six strokes behind first place Lamar.
Junior
Lucia Ramirez finished strong for a top-five individual placing, submitting an 81-75-77 – 233 to sit in sole fifth. Also in the top-10 was freshman
Samantha Gibbs who was two strokes behind Ramirez for an eight place finish.

Carla Puente Fernandez and junior
Elsa Tornvall came in at 15
th and 16
th, respectively. Senior
Reese Drezins rounded it out placed 21
st.
The Islanders will now look towards the SLC Championships, set for April 15-17 in New Braunfels.
