JONESBORO, Ark. – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi golf team finished out Arkansas State's Red Wolves Classic on Tuesday at Sage Meadows Country Club.
Competing a player short, the Islanders turned in a 941 tournament score after a 308 round three on Tuesday to finish out the first of three competitions in the busy month.
Junior
Lucia Ramirez shot the best round of the tournament for the Islanders, carding a 71 (-1) through the final 18 holes. She was two under through the front nine and finished the day with four birdies to move herself up 24 spots among individuals from yesterday.
Ramirez is the only Islanders to shoot below par in a round this season so far.
Sophomore
Samantha Gibbs was a third Islander to shoot under par on four holes to finish just two over on the day (74). It marked her best round of the tournament after shaving off one stroke from her round two score of a 75.

Carla Puente Fernandez and graduate
Tristan Gabbard rounded out the team after turning in scores of 81 and 82, respectively.

The Islanders will stay in Arkansas and head straight to Little Rock to play in the 2024 Diamante Classic Sunday through Tuesday. They will then wrap up the fall schedule on Oct. 25 at UTRGV for match play.
