STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Wrapping up a six-game road trip, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi soccer program heads to Tarleton State for a 7 p.m. kickoff Friday at the Tarleton Soccer Complex.

The Islanders are coming off an unbeaten road weekend where they blanked Prairie View A&M 6-0 before coming back twice to tie Sam Houston 2-2. It included goals by senior
Maggie Murray, junior
Rachel Loetzer, junior
Megan Guy, junior
Gracie Gill and sophomore
Mai-Lisa Atis.
The successful weekend resulted in a pair of A&M-Corpus Christi student-athletes winning Southland Conference Player of the Week awards. Murray was honored as the SLC Offensive Player of the Week and senior
Kennedy Stelling was tabbed the SLC Goalkeeper of the Week.
Murray registered two goals and two assists on the weekend. Stelling made 10 saves and submitted her second clean sheet of the year.
Stelling is one of four Islanders to start in all six games this year including senior Jayden Ray, Gill and Loetzer. Junior defender
Emma Crump has logged a team-high 398 minutes.
Tarleton enters play with a 2-2-2 record with wins over SLC opponents Texas A&M-Commerce 2-0 and Nicholls 3-0. Five of the team's six games have been at home.
Friday will be the first-ever regular season meeting between A&M-Corpus Christi and Tarleton. The two teams competed in an exhibition game previously.
The next home game is Thursday, Sept. 14 when the Islanders host UTRGV at 7 p.m. at Dugan Stadium.
