Casino Night Breaks Record with over $165,000 Raised to Support Student-Athletes

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Supporters of Islanders Athletics raised over $165,000 in revenue in a record setting Casino Night on Saturday evening in the Anchor Ballroom on the campus of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
 
It broke the $144,000 raised last year and $108,428 in 2021.
 
The event was presented by Conni & Jay Wise. Donations to the Islander Athletic Fund (IAF) were matched dollar-for-dollar by H-E-B.
 
"I am so proud of what was accomplished as an entire Islanders Athletics community on Saturday. Our incredible supporters and friends in the community came out to support our university, athletic programs and student-athletes in an amazing way. Casino Night was a tremendous success and the ones who will reap the benefits are our student-athletes," said vice president of intercollegiate athletics Adrian Rodriguez. "Casino Night has really become a can't miss event and is hugely impactful on our hard-working student-athletes as they compete for championships while achieving new heights in the classroom. I'm extremely grateful to all of our donors and supporters, and I'd especially like to thank and recognize our tremendous Islanders Athletics staff who worked very hard to make this event so successful." 
 
All money raised was to support the IAF, Islanders Athletics and the student-athlete experience. The mobile bidding site was open and allowed individuals who were unable to make it to this year's event to bid on items.
 
The evening included food, Las Vegas style gaming, a cash bar and silent and bid auctions in support of the IAF. Friends and supporters also had the opportunity to meet Islanders coaches and staff as they head into the 2023-24 season.
