Ke'Tavion Humber competes in the hurdles

Humber's Victory Highlights J. Fred Duckett Twilight

HOUSTON, Texas – Ke'Tavion Humber's victory in the 110m hurdles highlighted Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's track and field regular-season finale at the J. Fred Duckett Twilight.
 
 "Overall, we got done what we needed to and are looking forward to the conference championships in two weeks," said head coach Brent Ericksen.
 
Humber, a graduate student, claimed the top spot in the men's 110m hurdles with a mark of 14.18s. Later, he competed in the 200m dash in which he had a time of 22.01s.
 
A&M-Corpus Christi's women's 4x400m relay earned third with a combined time of 3:51.13, comprised of sophomores Yasmine Steele and Tranasia Jones, along with freshmen Khiah Lara-Turner and Erial Fontenot. Jones and Fontenot later competed in the 400m dash with the former placing eighth at 56.23s and the latter in 15th at 57.15s.
 
The women's 4x100m relay comprised of junior Capri Wilson, freshman Zenai Fowler, sophomore Journi Williams, and Fontenot, all running a 46.45s mark.
 
Spencer Bigner, a senior, tied for seventh place in the men's high jump at 1.92m being his best mark. Sophomore Jamal Dawson tied for ninth with the same mark as the aforementioned jumper. Junior Jaiyah Hodge placed ninth on the women's side of the event with freshman Sydney Combs behind her in 10th, both at 1.52m cleared.
 
Enock Antwi leaped 14.17m in the triple jump after placing a mark of 7.15m in the long jump. The marks put him at eighth and 12th respectively in his junior campaign. Sean Majors, a graduate student, earned 15th in the long jump at 7.07m. On the women's side of the long jump, freshman Myla Tate fought for 13th with a mark of 14.17m.
 
Faith Bett, a graduate student, crossed the line in the women's 1500m at 4:30.88 for a seventh-place finish. Junior Sharon Kiprop came in shortly behind her at 4:37.37 for 11th in the race.
 
Riley Cowan, a junior, placed eighth in the women's 800m dash at 2:14.69. Sophomore Reese Lara ran a 1:58.37 for the fastest time in the men's side of the event for the Islanders.
