CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi beach volleyball team will look to defend its tournament title as the No. 1 seed and host of this year's Southland Conference Championships, as the league office released the bracket Tuesday morning.
The tournament will be played Friday through Sunday at The Water's Edge. The championship match is set for Sunday at 1 p.m. where the crowned team will earn the league's automatic berth to the 2023 National Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championship in Gulf Shores, Alabama on May 5-7.
After going a perfect 6-0 SLC in the regular season, the Islanders got the top seed and a bye through the first round. They will begin play Friday at 2:30 p.m. against the winner of No. 4 New Orleans and No. 5 Southeastern.
The Islanders will be going for their third championship in two years after also winning the inaugural regular season championship this year. It is the second year in a row that A&M-Corpus Christi earned the top seed at the tournament.
Live scoring will be available for each match, with the elimination semifinal and championship matches on Sunday broadcast on ESPN+.
