KINGSVILLE, Texas - Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's track and field program rounded out an action-packed week with the 15th Annual Cactus Cup Saturday evening after several weather delays.
Enoch Antwi, a junior, claimed victory in the men's triple jump with a mark of 14.84m, besting second place by 0.21m.
Myla Tate, a freshman, earned third place in the women's long jump with a new personal best mark of 5.42m. She fell just short of making the record books by two centimeters. Later, she earned the same honor in the triple jump, leaping 11.10m on the day.
Graduate student
Sean Majors placed second with a mark of 7.58m, a new personal best by 0.45m to move to second all-time in program history. Coming into the weekend, the mark would tie him for 21st in the west region to qualify for regionals.
Logan Rickey took home a bronze medal in the men's 1500m run in his sophomore campaign at 4:07.22.
The women's 4x100m relay fought its way up to sixth all-time for the Islanders with a time of 46.34s. The relay was comprised of junior
Capri Wilson, freshman
Zenai Fowler, sophomore
Journi Williams and
Erial Fontenot, another freshman.
Wilson went on to win the women's 200m dash at 24.63s, just 0.2s shy of her personal best. She continued her eventful meet in the 100m dash, earning seventh with a time of 12.04s.
Junior
Jaiyah Hodge continued the trend of third-place finishes in the high jump, clearing 1.63m, just two cm short of her personal best. On the men's side of the event, senior
Spencer Bigner earned third with a personal best 2.03m with sophomore
Jamal Dawson behind him in fourth, tied with classmate
Noah Gonzales.

Ke'Tavion Humber and senior
Daniel Armstrong finished fifth and ninth in the 110m hurdles with times of 14.41s and 15.05s respectively.
Tranasia Jones furthered the success for A&M-Corpus Christi in the women's 400m dash, crossing the line at 57.10s. Shortly behind her in sixth and seventh were freshman
Khiah Lara-Turner and sophomore
Yasmine Steele, both coming in at 58.37s and 58.40s respectively.
A&M-Corpus Christi returns to the track this upcoming Saturday at the Rice Invitational.
