BATON ROUGE, Louisiana – Coming off an impressive showing last weekend, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi beach volleyball team will be looking to take its momentum into another difficult tournament where it will face two more nationally ranked opponents in the Tiger Beach Tournament.

Day one will begin Saturday when the Islanders (13-6) face #4 Florida State at 11 a.m. before immediately playing #5 LSU, the hosts, at 1 p.m. A&M-Corpus Christi will also compete in its conference finale, looking to go a perfect 6-0 SLC when it takes on New Orleans on Sunday at 12 p.m. The Islanders will close out the weekend with a 2 p.m. match against Spring Hill College.

A&M-Corpus Christi has won 24 consecutive regular season matches against SLC opponents dating back to 2019. In addition to four wins during the Southland Midyear, the Islanders posted a 5-0 sweep over HCU in the conference opener over opening weekend this year to hold a 5-0 SLC record.

The Islanders recently secured its first win over a top-20 team in program history with a 4-1 match victory over #17 Arizona. It was one of six matches over the weekend in Arizona for the Islanders, who faced two top-20 teams and one who had been receiving votes in the AVCA Poll.

A&M-Corpus Christi concluded the weekend 4-2 with additional wins over UC Davis, Arizona Christian and Southern Miss. The Islanders handed UC Davis its first loss of the season with a 3-2 edge and then completed the season sweep over Southern Miss with a 4-1 decision.
