PHOENIX, Ariz. – Riding a seven-match win streak, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi beach volleyball team will be tested when it travels to Arizona to compete against six teams, three of which have been nationally ranked, Thursday through Saturday.
The weekend will begin Thursday for the Islanders who will open with back-to-back matches with #7 Grand Canyon and UC Davis starting at 12 p.m. in Phoenix. Heading to Tucson next, A&M-Corpus Christi will compete in the Arizona Invitational and face Cal Poly, who is receiving votes in the AVCA Poll, Friday at 11 a.m. and #17 Arizona at 4 p.m. On Saturday, the Islanders will close out play with matches against Arizona Christian and Southern Miss at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.

The Islanders (9-4) are coming off a perfect weekend at the Southland Midyear tournament, improving to a league-best 5-0 in SLC play. It extended their streak to seven straight wins after taking down Palm Beach Atlantic, Saint Leo, and Southern Miss the week before.

Kela Moreno went 4-0 on the weekend, taking down each team in straight sets.
Moreno holds the team-best 10-3 record this year. She is 9-3 on court five and 1-0 on court four.

Kiley Lewis have teamed up on flight one all year and posses a 9-4 record.
It will be the second time the Islanders face Southern Miss after edging the Golden Eagles 3-2 at the Florida Atlantic March Invitational earlier this season. The Islanders are an undefeated 3-0 all-time against Southern Miss.
It will be A&M-Corpus Christi's first-ever meeting with Cal Poly, second-ever meetings with GCU, Cal Poly, and Arizona Christian, and fourth-ever meetings with Arizona and Southern Miss.
Three of A&M-Corpus Christi's four losses have come against ranked opponents. The Islanders will be going for their first ever win over a ranked opponent.
