CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's soccer team looks to return to its winning ways as they host Prairie View A&M at the Dr. Jack Dugan Soccer and Track & Field Stadium Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.

The Islanders kicked off the 2022 campaign with their best start in program history, sitting 2-0 after defeating both Texas Southern and UTRGV on the road. In the home opener, A&M-Corpus Christi was edged out by Texas State by a single goal for the first loss of the season.

Having faced off on the pitch four times before, the Islanders have come ahead in the all-time series over the Panthers 3-1, winning the first three games of the series. The two teams last played on the Island in 2018 when A&M-Corpus Christi left victorious 1-0.

Six different players have scored on the season for the blue and green, led by
Maggie Murray and
Reese Cross, both juniors on the squad with four others each receiving a goal. Going into Thursday's matchup, junior
Molly Arens sat tied for third in Division I women's soccer with three assists thus far this season. Freshman
Mai-Lisa Atis received her first collegiate assist against the Bobcats, helping
Natalie Gonzalez, a redshirt junior, to score.
