CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Office of Risk, Ethics, & Compliance and Department of Athletics announced the hiring of Eric Schultz as Associate AD for Compliance.

Schultz arrives at The Island University with 14 years of direct experience in compliance. Most recently, he served as Associate AD for Compliance at New Mexico for six seasons.

While at New Mexico, Schultz oversaw all compliance and risk management in a program with 18 sports, 450 student-athletes and 150 coaches and staff. He provided department leadership and oversight for all department, university, conference and NCAA compliance.

Prior to joining the Lobos, Schultz served as the Director of Compliance at Eastern Illinois. There he was responsible for the department's compliance with NCAA and Ohio Valley Conference rules and regulations. Schultz served as the sport supervisor for men's and women's golf, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's tennis and softball. He also assisted with development and corporate sales.

Before Eastern Illinois, Schultz was the assistant director of compliance at Northern Colorado. He was responsible for handling all aspects of initial eligibility in addition to monitoring all athletic related activities and overseeing transfer student policies and procedures. Schultz also served as a compliance services assistant and financial aid advisor at SIU Edwardsville from 2008-09.

Schultz earned his bachelor's degree in sports management from Wisconsin-Parkside in 2007 and earned a master's degree in sport administration from SIU Edwardsville in 2009. While at Wisconsin-Parkside, he participated as a decathlete on the track and field squad.

Schultz and his wife Amy have three sons, Jaxon, Clay and Reed.
