HILADELHPIA, Penn. - In good standing to repeat last year's victory, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi golf team leads the rank after round one Monday at the 2022 PGA Works Collegiate Championship at Union League Golf Club at Torresdale.
The Islanders carded a 310 to tie for first with conference foe Delaware State after the first 18 holes of the tournament. They are ahead of third-place Chicago State by 13 strokes.
Senior
Kelli Ann Dugan sits alone at the top of the rankings individually, going three over par for a 73 round total. She is four strokes ahead of second-place.
Sophomore
Lucie Charbonnier and freshman
Reagan Gray also turned in top-10 finishes in round one. Charbonnier, an All-Conference Second-Team selection, posted a 78 for a fourth-place standing while Gray shot a 79 to be tied at ninth.
Rounding it out for the Islanders was graduate student
Kellsey Sample who turned in an 87 on the day. This will be Sample and Dugan's last collegiate event.
The tournament will resume Tuesday for round two and the final round will be played on Wednesday.
The PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship is in its 35th year and features more than 30 teams representing Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic-serving institutions and other minority-serving institutions from across the nation.
