CONROE, Texas - After three rounds at the 2022 Southland Conference Championship, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi golf program ended in fourth-place on Wednesday.
The Islanders carded a 320 in round three for a 949 overall score after three days at Panorama Golf Club. It came after they shot 311 in round one on Monday and 318 in round two on Tuesday.
Sophomore
Lucie Charbonnier led the Islanders the whole way individually, finishing with a seventh-place standing. She submitted another 75 in round three to end with a 230 overall score. This was Charbonnier's sixth tournament in a row to place 11th or higher and fifth time this season turning in a top-10 performance.
Graduate student
Kellsey Sample and freshman
Reagan Gray both turned in an 82 in their final round. Sample ended with a 238 for a 14th-place ranking while Gray turned in a 245 overall score to finish 22nd.
With a one stroke improvement from her previous round, freshman
Anastacia Johnson shot an 81 in round three to submit a 240 on the tournament. Junior
Lucy Martinez etched a 80-80-83 - 243 total.
This marked the fifth tournament this season where the Islanders have finished fourth-place or higher.
The Islanders will continue their postseason on May 2-4 when they compete in the 2022 PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship at Union League Liberty Hill and The Union League Golf Club at Torresdale in Philadelphia, PA.
