WALNUT, Cal. - The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi track and field teams pursued more record-breaking attempts at the Mt. Sac Relays and Bryan Clay Invite, doing just that twice in the second day of competition.
Senior
Trpimir Siroki broke his own school record in the men's long jump that he set earlier this year at the Texas Relays with a leap of 7.73m to place him fourth at the Mt. Sac Relays. He also placed eighth in the 110m hurdles, clocking a time of 14.33 on the day.
Ke'Tavion Humber, a senior, competed for the first time this weekend, following Siroki in the 110m hurdles in 16th place with a 14.09s mark on the day. Humber traveled to the Mt. Sac Relays for the second day.
Sophomore
Capri Wilson came out with a strong showing in the 100m dash, placing 33rd in the event with a season-best time of 11.77s. Two more competitors from the island saw action as
Timor Barrett, a graduate student, earned 12th in the 400m hurdles with a season-best 51.93s and senior
Faith Bett clocked 4:40.56 in the 1500m for 22nd overall at the Mt. Sac Relays.
Junior
Dennis Kipngeno earned sixth in his heat in the 5K with a new personal best of 14:00.98. The mark holds him in second all-time in school history for the Islanders.
A&M-Corpus Christi will continue competition at the Beach Invitational on Saturday.
