AZUSA, Cal. - The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi track and field team kicked off the weekend at the Bryan Clay Invite in which several Islanders set new personal bests at the invite-only meet.
"The distance squad did a great job today," said head coach
Brent Ericksen. "[Senior]
Juan Salinas III had a minute and 14-second personal record and both [grad student]
Quin Johnson and [sophomore] Shanon Kiprop ran personal records and closed really well."

It places him fourth all-time in the Islanders' history books and 24th at the meet.
Kiprop continued the personal best momentum by setting one of her own in the 5K run with a time of 17:36.04. Her mark propelled her to a fourth-place finish in her race.
Tristan Stellmach, a graduate student, ran in the men's 5K and earned a 16th place finish, running a 14:47.89.
