AUSTIN, Texas - The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi track & field team competed on the second day of the Texas Relays, a four-day event, seeing six Islanders on the track.
Senior
Trpimir Siroki continued competition in the men's decathlon and finished in third place with 7,838 points. Five additional events were held today in the event, starting with the 110m hurdles where Siroki ran 14.32s to earn a second-place finish. He followed the performance by launching the discuss 38.70m for eighth before vaulting himself 4.90m into the air in the pole vault. The javelin throw came up next where he threw it 53.77m for fifth place before rounding out the day by clocking a time of 4:57.93 in the 1500m. With the performance, Siroki set a new personal record, school record and Croatian national record

Timor Barrett, a graduate student placed 20
th in the men's 400m hurdles with a 53.25s time. He ranks third all-time in the event with a run from last year, but the run sits eighth in school history.
Two Islanders competed in the men's 5,000m run with Junior Dennis Kipgeno leading the way, coming in seventh with a time of 14:02.87. Freshman
Kelvin Kimaiyo earned a 12th place finish, coming in just a few seconds later with a 14:13.82 time.
Graduate student
Quin Johnson ran in the women's 10,000m run, earning a ninth-place finish, crossing the finish line at 36:38.12. On the men's side of the event, fellow graduate student
Tristan Stellmach earned a time of 30:59.06 to come in sixth in the event.
Day three will kick off at 9:35 a.m. Friday with the 4x100m women's relays as the men will run the 4x100m men's relays after. The event will be streamed on ESPN+.
