AUSTIN, Texas - The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's track & field team began competition at the Texas Relays as senior
Trpimir Siroki took the track.
Siroki was the only member of the Islanders' team to compete on the first day in the decathlon. Five events took place beginning with the 100m dash where he placed fourth with a time of 11.06s for 847 points.
He claimed victory in two of the next three events of the day. First, Siroki claimed victory in the men's long jump, leaping 7.59m before earning the same title in the high jump, bounding 2.11m into the air. In the shot put, he heaved it 13.37m to earn sixth-place. The events earned him 957, 690, and 906 points, respectively.
He concluded the day by finishing 14th in the 400m dash, running a time of 51.01s to add 769 points to his total.
The competition will continue Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m.
