LUBBOCK, Texas - On a chilly day at Rocky Johnson Field, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi softball team couldn't get warm as they were topped by Tulsa 8-3 and Texas Tech 9-0 on Saturday in the Texas Tech Tournament.Â

Sydney Hoyt scored both Egan and De Avila to give her the two-RBI and get the Islanders on the board.
The Islanders didn't score again until the sixth when Egan earned her second run of the game. The Golden Hurricanes stayed hot and maintained their lead through the whole game and scored four more runs to make the final score 8-3, Tulsa on top.
Texas Tech (10-12) struck hard in the first to score all nine of the team's runs. The Islanders weren't able to get on the board and Texas Tech's Kendall Fritz was awarded a perfect game.
