STILLWATER, Okla. – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi saw representation at the NCAA Championships as senior
Dennis Kipngeno earned a time of 31:27.9 on the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course Saturday morning.

Kipngeno ran through the first two markers of the day with times of 2:50.1 and 5:53.2 at the 1K and 2K marks, sitting in 253
rd at the start. He began working his way up through the pack, moving up six spots at the 3K mark with a time of 8:57.6.

Halfway through the race, Kipngeno earned a time of 15:26.5, continuing to move up through the pack in 239th. With just over 3K left in the race, he had moved up to 225
th with a time of 21:32.0. He crossed the finish line with a time of 31:27.9 to earn 221
st out of 253 competitors.

Kipngeno earned his berth at the NCAA Championships with a seventh-place finish at the South Central Regionals. Prior to regionals, he competed at the Southland Conference Championships and won the men's individual title, named the SLC Men's Athlete of the Year and a sport on the All-Conference First Team.

The 2022 Championships marked the second consecutive season the senior competed in the meet, coming in 110
th in the 2021 Championships. He remains one of only three Islanders to run at theNCAA Championships for A&M-Corpus Christi.

He was the second finisher for the SLC at the meet with George Wheeler from Lamar earning 149 on the day.
