JONESBORO, Ark. – In its third consecutive week of competition, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi golf program will compete in the Arkansas State Tournament on Monday and Tuesday at Sage Meadows Country Club.

The three round tournament will be played with 36 holes Monday and 18 holes Tuesday. The course is 6,164 yards and a par 72.

The field includes Arkansas State, Austin Peay, Central Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky, Houston Christian, Memphis, North Alabama, Omaha, Samford, Southern Miss, Stephen F. Austin, Texas A&M-Commerce, Troy and UL-Monroe.

The Islanders will send a lineup of senior
Maria Beltran, junior
Lucie Charbonnier, sophomore
Reagan Gray, freshman
Elsa Tornvall and freshman
Lucia Ramirez.

"This is our fourth event of the fall season with a different lineup combination each time. The team is gaining valuable experience, with each getting a lot of playing time," said head coach
Pat Stephens. "We have Lucie coming off a school record tying performance and several others continuing to play better. The goal is to get that first round score lower. The Arkansas State Tournament is new to our team but they are excited to meet the challenge."

In their last tournament, the Islanders shot a 904 at the NMSU Aggie Classic, which was 21 strokes better than their 925 showing in the tournament the year prior. Charbonnier headlined the team's performance by tying the school record for a low 54-hole total with a 213 (-3). She shot a 68 in the final round which was the second-lowest in school history.

The Islanders have posted their best score in the final round of each of the three tournaments they've played in.
