CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Southland Conference released its 2020-21 Commissioner's Honor Roll and it included 156 student-athletes from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
Every sport at A&M-Corpus Christi was represented. The Islanders landed 26 student-athletes from soccer, 24 baseball, 19 softball, 16 beach volleyball, 14 women's track & field, 12 volleyball, 8 men's track & field, 7 women's tennis, 7 men's cross country, 6 golf, 6 men's tennis, 5 women's basketball, 4 women's cross country and 3 men's basketball.
The requirement was at least a 3.0 grade point average.
"This is just another example of hard work and dedication from our student athletes. Despite the challenging year, they continued to excel in the classroom. We couldn't be more proud of the way they represent Texas A&M Corpus Christi," said
Jennifer Baker, director of center for athletic academic services.
The Islanders had 53 student-athletes record a 4.0 GPA in the spring and 52 in the fall. The cumulative GPA of all student-athletes on campus is a 3.30.
