COLLEGE STATION, Texas –
Leonardo Ledgister advanced to the quarterfinal round of the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field West Preliminaries after topping the 400-meter hurdles field Wednesday night at E.B. Cushing Stadium.
"Another great performance from Leo," said head coach
Brent Ericksen. "He got out fast and pressured the rest of his heat, he has one more race to go on Friday to make the championship trip."
Ledgister topped the first-round qualifier field with a 49.68 sprint to earn a spot in Friday's quarterfinals. He is the third Islander to make the quarterfinal round in the past three years.
The 400-meter hurdles quarterfinal is slated for Friday, May 28 at 7:55 p.m.
