CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi soccer program tied Houston Baptist 1-1 after two overtimes Friday on Senior Night at Dugan Stadium.
Â
With the draw, A&M-Corpus Christi (4-8-4, 3-5-3 SLC) will need Lamar to win or tie against McNeese in a rescheduled game Sunday.
Â
The Islanders got on the board first in the 18th minute. After a run down the right side, senior
Mariah Ramon sent a cross to the middle of the box that was inadvertently kicked into the net by an HBU (3-10-2, 3-7-1 SLC) defender for an own goal.
Â
The Huskies scored the equalizer in the 65th minute. After a shot hit the crossbar, Noor Abukishk was there for the rebound to knot it up.
Â
The Islanders had several chances in the extra periods, but couldn't find the finishing touch.
Â
"Great fight from the ladies tonight. We had enough chances to win three games but it wasn't to be unfortunately. That's the difference in winning games," said head coach
Craig Shaw.
Â
Senior

Olivia Alvarez all recorded three shots. Senior
Celia Hilsabeck fired a pair.
Â
In the back, junior

Â
Before the game, the Islanders honored nine seniors with a special ceremony. They distinguished
