FORT WORTH, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi beach volleyball opened its four-match weekend with a day one split at the TCU Invitational, earning the 4-1 victory over Boise State before falling 4-1 to nationally-ranked host TCU Friday at the TCU Sand Volleyball Courts.
The Islanders made quick work of Boise State in both squads second spring meeting, earning four of the five available points for the lopsided 4-1 victory.

Mary Dodge and
Migle Mazurkeviciute got the Islanders going with a dominant 21-11, 21-8 win in the No. 4 spot, sparking a three-point run that included No. 5
Micaela Mirabal and
Kylie Kvam (21-16, 21-16) along with No. 1
Giuliana Poletti Corrales and
Brooke Pertuit (21-18, 21-14) for the 3-0 lead.
No. 3
Tori Johnson and
Jaylyn Porras allowed Boise State on the board in a 27-25, 21-14 loss, but the No. 2 pair of
Emily Ramirez and
Brooke Adkisson wrapped up the win with a three-set, 21-18, 13-21, 17-15 decision.
The Islanders faced No. 7 TCU in the afternoon match, as No. 5 Kvam and Mirabal claimed the Islanders' lone point with a 21-18, 28-26 straight-set win. No. 3 Dodge and Mazurkeviciute stretched their match to three but ultimately fell 21-17, 16-21, 11-15 as No. 1 Poletti and Pertuit (21-18, 21-14), No. 2 Ramirez and Adkisson (21-13, 24-22) and No. 4 Johnson and Porras (21-19, 21-18) all suffered losses.
A&M-Corpus Christi continues the TCU Invitational tomorrow (April 10) with matchups against Tulane and Houston Baptist.
