CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi beach volleyball aims to continue its winning ways in a four-match weekend at the TCU Invitational taking place April 9-10.
The Islanders take on Boise State and host TCU on Friday, April 9 at 8 a.m. and 12:20 p.m. followed by back-to-back matches the following day against Tulane (8 a.m.) and Houston Baptist (10:10 a.m.).
Notes
- After posting a 4-0 weekend on their home court at the Islander Classic, A&M-Corpus Christi improved to a 10-9 overall record for the spring.
- Mary Dodge and Migle Mazurkeviciute took home Southland Pair of the Week honors after going a flawless 4-0 at the No. 5 spot and bumping their pair record to 6-3. The weekly honor is Dodge's second of the spring and first for Mazurkeviciute. It's the Islanders third pair of the week nod this season.
- The Islanders hold a 3-1 record against three of their four opponents, as they swept Boise State 5-0 (Mar. 6), defeated Houston Baptist twice (Feb. 27, April 3) and fell to Tulane (Mar. 19).
- With the 4-0 weekend, several Islanders improved their individual records as Mazurkeviciute is 8-2 at No. 5 while Brooke Adkisson and Emily Ramirez each have six wins.
- In addition to a strong returning class, the Islanders welcome Division I grad transfers Mary Dodge (Wisconsin), Micaela Mirabal (Grand Canyon), and Emily Ramirez (UTSA) to the roster.
- Coach Gayle Stammer enters her fifth season at the helm of the Islander program.
