CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi beach volleyball enters the Southland Conference Beach Volleyball Tournament looking to claim the title as the No. 1 seed on its home court April 23-25 at Water's Edge Park.
The Islanders will face the winner of Friday morning's match between No. 4 Central Arkansas/No. 5 New Orleans on Friday, April 23 at 1 p.m. to open tournament action.
Notes
	- Currently ranking 27th nationally in the PABLO Team standings, A&M-Corpus Christi carries a 14-11 overall record into the tournament and solidified the No. 1 seed.
- During the regular season, the Islanders claimed a conference-best five Southland Pair of the Week awards as Emily Ramirez and Taylor Horsfall boasted an undefeated weekend to take home the final honor on Wednesday.
- The Islanders are 7-0 against conference opponents this spring - beating No. 2 Houston Baptist three times, No. 3 Stephen F. Austin twice and No. 6 Southeastern La. once. Five of those matches were 5-0 sweeps.
- Horsfall and Ramirez pace the Islanders pairs with an 11-6 mark spread across the Nos. 2, 3 and 4 spots. No. 1 pair Giuliana Poletti Corrales and Brooke Pertuit have won four-straight in the top lineup spot.
- In addition to a strong returning class, the Islanders welcome Division I grad transfers Mary Dodge (Wisconsin), Micaela Mirabal (Grand Canyon), and Emily Ramirez (UTSA) to the roster.      
- Coach Gayle Stammer enters her fifth season at the helm of the Islander program.
