CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - The 24th-ranked Texas A&M-Corpus Christi beach volleyball program was tabbed the No. 1 seed for the conference tournament, announced Monday evening by the league office.
The Islanders (14-11) went 7-0 against SLC opponents this season. They will take the sand Friday at 1 p.m. against the winner of fourth-seeded Central Arkansas (17-14) and fifth-seeded New Orleans (7-14).
It is a double elimination format with the championship match taking place at 2 p.m. Sunday. All matches of the tournament will be played at Water's Edge Park and A&M-Corpus Christi is the host institution.
The Islanders will enter play on a three-match winning-streak with 5-0 victories over Houston Baptist, Southeastern Louisiana and Stephen F. Austin.
