SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi outdoor track & field secured three top-five finishes in four distance races in their first day competing at the UTSA Roadrunner Invitational Friday.
Dennis Kipngeno (14:47.41) earned the top spot while
Valentina Campos (18:24.32) placed second in the men's and women's 5000-meter events to headline the Islanders' dominant performances.
Alana Blankenship (19:06.27) rounded out the top-five performers with a fourth-place finish in the 5,000-meter run.
Headlining the Islanders' efforts in the 3,000-meter steeplechase,
Tristan Stellmach (10:09.35) and
Jasmine Perez (12:33.74) each landed sixth to kick off the distance day.
The Islanders continue at the UTSA Roadrunner Invitational tomorrow (April 17).
