Islanders Fall at #10 GCU to Open Arizona Tour

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Grand Canyon University, the No. 10 team in the country, handed the Islanders a 5-0 blanking as Texas A&M-Corpus Christi kicked off a five-game stretch around Arizona Friday afternoon at GCU Beach Volleyball Stadium.

The Lopes blew past Southland Pair of the Week honorees Kylie Kvam and Brooke Adkisson at the No. 4 spot 21-12, 21-18 to give GCU a lead they would not relinquish for the remainder of the match.

GCU piled on points in the Nos. 2, 3, 5, and 1 pairings to sweep the Islanders.

A&M-Corpus Christi travels to Tuscon to compete in the Cactus Classic, opening with a matchup with Boise State at 10 a.m. Saturday (March 6) morning.
