They also played No. 11 Oklahoma State twice and a road game at Texas State, which was receiving votes.
Â
Lamar was picked to finish eighth in the SLC Preseason Poll, three spots ahead of A&M-Corpus Christi. The Cardinals have played a tough schedule but have wins this year over Houston and Tarleton State. They got swept by Southeastern Louisiana last weekend on the road to begin SLC action.
