LAREDO, Texas – An addition was made to the schedule for the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi soccer program as it will travel to Texas A&M-International for a 3 p.m. Saturday contest at the Dustdevil Soccer Field.
Â
It comes after the announcement that Friday's game at Abilene Christian was postponed to March 5 due to COVID-19 protocols within ACU's program.
Â
"With ACU being cancelled and no exhibitions this season, we felt we needed another game to prepare for our conference home games next week," said head coach
Craig Shaw.
Â
The Islanders (0-2-1) are coming off a hard-fought 110-minute draw against UTRGV on Wednesday in the South Texas Showdown. Freshman goalkeeper
Kennedy Stelling registered a shutout in net.
Â
It will be the season opener for TAMIU (0-0), which is coming off a 2-13-2 (1-10-2 LSC) campaign. Saturday will be the first-ever meeting between the Islanders and the Dustdevils.
